In economic data, weekly jobless claims rose by 11,000 to 278,000 - beating the expectations for an increase of 290,000. Continuing claims increased by 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 2.4 million Meanwhile, U.S. productivity in Q4 contracted by a 1.8% annual rate. In the previous quarter, productivity rose by a revised 3.7% instead of 2.3%. Finally, the U.S. trade deficit rose to a two-year high of $46.6 billion in December.
